At Deal Drop Today, we believe that finding a great deal should be simple, honest, and stress-free. Every listing on this site goes through a verification process before it reaches you. This page explains how we find deals, what we look for, and what we intentionally leave out.

How We Find Deals

We monitor hundreds of retailers, brand websites, and promotional channels every day. Our process combines automated tracking tools with hands-on editorial review to make sure each deal is real, current, and worth your time.

When we identify a potential deal, we run it through several checks before publishing:

Price Verification

We compare the listed sale price against the product’s recent retail history. If a retailer inflates the “original” price to make a discount look bigger than it actually is, we skip it. We only publish deals where the savings are genuine and the discount reflects an actual reduction from the product’s normal selling price.

Retailer Link Testing

Every deal link is tested before publication. We click through to the retailer’s page to confirm the product is available, the price matches what we’re reporting, and the link lands on the correct product — not a generic homepage or a redirected page. If a link doesn’t work or leads somewhere unexpected, the deal doesn’t get listed.

Coupon Validation

When a deal involves a coupon or promo code, we verify that the code is active and applies correctly at checkout. We don’t publish codes that are expired, restricted to first-time customers only without disclosure, or that require a minimum spend that makes the deal impractical. If a code has specific conditions, we note them clearly in the listing.

Availability Checks

We confirm that each deal is currently available to shoppers. If a product is out of stock, backordered, or limited to a specific region that we can’t verify, we hold it until we can confirm availability. Deals that sell out quickly are removed from the site as soon as we become aware.

What We Exclude

Not every deal makes the cut. We intentionally filter out listings that could waste your time or mislead you. Here’s what we leave out:

Expired Deals

We actively monitor our published deals and remove them when they expire. Our system flags listings that have passed their end date, and we manually review deals that are reported as no longer working. If you ever find an expired deal on our site, please let us know through our Contact page and we’ll take care of it.

Misleading Discounts

Some retailers advertise massive percentage-off discounts on products that were never actually sold at the “original” price. We watch for this tactic and exclude deals where the discount is artificially inflated. If the math doesn’t add up, the deal doesn’t get published.

Subscription Traps

We don’t list deals that require you to sign up for a recurring subscription in order to get the advertised price — unless the subscription itself is the product and that’s made clear upfront. “Free trial” offers that automatically convert to paid subscriptions without obvious disclosure are always excluded.

Unreliable Sellers

We stick to deals from established, reputable retailers. We don’t list deals from sellers with a pattern of complaints, shipping issues, or questionable product authenticity. If we can’t confidently vouch for the retailer, we don’t feature their deals.

Our Commitment to Transparency

Advertising

We display advertising on our pages. Ad revenue helps us keep the site free and continue bringing you more listings.

Advertising never influences which listings we choose to feature. We apply the same verification process to every listing regardless of any advertising relationship.

Editorial Independence

No retailer or brand can pay to have a deal featured on Deal Drop Today. Our listings are selected based on value to shoppers, not on business relationships. We do not accept sponsored placements in our deal listings, and we do not give preferential treatment to any retailer.

Corrections

If we make an error — a wrong price, an incorrect coupon code, or a broken link — we correct it as quickly as possible. If you spot something that doesn’t look right, please reach out to us.
